Naser Bin Ghaith's hearing postponed until 22 February 2017
The hearing of Dr. Nasser Bin Ghaith, who faces charges relating solely to the peaceful exercise of his right to freedom of expression and association, was postponed until 22 February.
Dr Nasser bin Ghaith appeared for the first time before the Federal Appeal Court in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday the 18th of January 2017.
His hearing was adjourned to 22 of Feb, 2017 for defence statement. It was a quick session, they didn't even announce the charges and totally ignored the bail request.
Though the court is the Federal Appeal Court, but actually it's the same building of the Supreme Court and the same court room and everything.
The only difference is the judges, they are different ones. It was headed by an Egyptian judge. Same procedure to enter the court (still closed except to friendly media, associations and to pre=approved family members). In short, with the exception of the judges, everything else is the same exactly.
The situation under which Dr. Naser is held, is extremely harsh and failing to meet the minimum standards of the international prisons conditions.
